Diesel gloves available again (limited)

For visitors of forecourts diesel gloves (art.no. 28986300) have always been a valued service item. However, in the peak of the Corona crisis (March/April) the demand for these gloves became 4 times as high. The buffer stock that Newco holds on this article weren’t able meet this enormous increase in demand. As a result, we have had no stock on this article for 1.5 months. At the moment we have a small stock available again. In order to offer as many customers as possible the possibility to order this product again, only 1 box (100 pieces) per customer can temporarily be ordered for this product.

In the meantime, we are of course working hard to build up a new buffer stock. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you very much for your understanding.

Delivery problems screenwash and coolant

Recently our supplier of various liquids such as coolant and screenwash, has been confronted with the sudden termination of the supply of liquid packages. This is causing a stagnation of the deliveries planned to Newco. As a result, we will (temporarily) run out of stock for a number of products. Our own buffer stock will not be sufficient to absorb this stagnation. This means that we unfortunately will not be able to prevent entirely that this will affect you as our customer. Because the availability fluctuates daily, it is unfortunately not possible to give you an overview of the affected items. If you have any questions about the availability of a screenwash or coolant item, we advise you to contact our Customer Service. On the web shop you will of course also find information about the availability of individual items.

The availability of latex gloves is another, recurring issue. We suffer from an irregular supply which certainly not meet the increased demand. Therefore it may occur that also these items are not always available.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience. We are working very hard to resolve these issues. We kindly thank you for your understanding.

Possible delays on shipments

Till now, deliveries to our customers have been performed as agreed. But the consequences of the Covid-19 crisis inevitably also affect the transport world. The availability of transport becomes limited. This is partly due to the extra precautionary measures, which cause longer waiting times for the driver, and increased illness among drivers. This means that you will receive your shipment with a delay and occasionally on other days than you are used to. Once again, we count on your understanding during this difficult time. We wish everyone a lot of strength and health.

A measure around shortage of articles

Dear customer, as a result of the situation around Covid 19, the demand for some articles has risen sharply. We are working hard to speed up and expand the supply of these articles. In order to be able to supply as many customers as possible with these much sought-after articles in the meantime, it may happen that there are (temporarily) maximum quantities per article per order. For more information, please contact our Customer Support department. We count on your understanding for these measures in these special circumstances

Supply chain Newco stable

Last March 10, we implemented the first measures in order to deal with the Covid-19 virus. Since then, the majority of our employees have been working from home and consistently respect these measures to promote social abstinence. The work of some colleagues can only be done from the office. However, this is a group of less than 10 people and their workplaces are (to prevent infection) spread across different offices and office premises.

Our sales team currently only will go out only for very urgent visits. In accordance with the governmental measures regarding social abstinence guidelines, they work from home as often as possible. Of course they can be reached by phone and e-mail. However, for questions about orders, deliveries and availability of products, it is best to contact our customer service:
  • Via telephone: +44 74 18 31 08 01
  • Via e-mail: customersupport@newco-europe.com
We would kindly request you to place your orders via our web shop

Newco uses a modern distribution centre for its supply chain and the services of renowned carriers such as De Klok (NL), Dachser, GLS and DHL. We are in daily contact with our carriers and they have already assured us that their services will continue normally at the moment. Due to the risk of contamination, De Klok has decided to no longer place its pallets inside the shop, but to unload them outside (in front of the door). Our parcel carriers GLS and DHL no longer allow customers to confirm delivery via their hand terminal. They enter the name of the recipient themselves and then sign it on behalf of the recipient. A sensible decision, we think, and we rely on your understanding. We expect other carriers to take similar measures.

Despite the stagnation/delays in the flow of goods from China in particular, Newco currently still has sufficient stock in almost all product categories. We are, however, facing significant price increases. For this reason we previously announced price increases as of 1 April. We are not prepared for a huge peak demand by our customers, such as in recent days with toilet paper for home use. It is therefore possible that individual products may not be available for a short period of time.

Should relevant changes occur in the situation just described, we will inform you proactively.

All that remains is for us to wish you and your colleagues, both business and private, much strength in dealing with this bizarre situation and its consequences.

The Corona virus affects us all

The developments around the Coronavirus are a reason for concern all over the world. The spread of the disease, the high number of people who have fallen sick and certainly the great number of fatalities is worrying. The Corona crisis is also having an economic impact. Therefore Newco is unfortunately forced to apply a temporary surcharge to a section of our assortment.

A large number of factories in China are still closed and the remaining are running at half speed. Major stakeholders from the electronics and automotive industries, among others, are now facing difficulties maintaining the supply of products from China. Newco is experiencing similar problems: The supply of products we purchased has been delayed or even temporarily stopped. As a consequence, we are unfortunately forced to temporarily increase the prices of a section of our range. For now, we will limit this to only the fast movers section of our assortment.

Why do we temporarily raise the prices of a section of our range:

  • In general, the principal applies that when the demand of goods increases, the prices go up too. This means that Newco will pay a higher price for products that are imported from China.
  • To maintain our service level and serve our customers in the best possible way, we are (for sections of our assortment) forced to choose for faster transport options (by plane instead of by ship).
  • Apart from this, it may occur that we need to import goods from other markets than the Chinese market, which will carry higher costs.
  • On top of this we are confronted with an unfavourable development of the US Dollar conversion rate (with which we pay our Chinese goods). This means we are facing a significant increase of our purchase prices by more than 2.5% for all products being purchased with US Dollars.

What does this mean for you?

We see ourselves forced to increase the prices of our fast-movers originating from China by 7.5% as of 1 April 2020. 5% of this is caused by the scarce offer together with our efforts to guarantee sufficient stock on fast movers. The remaining 2.5% is related to the development of the US dollar exchange rate.

Please note: this is an initial estimate and unfortunately we cannot exclude that any further price adjustments will be necessary. Nor can it be ruled out that these price adjustments will take place more frequently than usual.

A large part of our product range does not (directly) come from China and will therefore not be affected (for the time being). For now, we will limit this to only the fast movers section of our assortment.

If at some point in time the surcharge can be (partly) reversed, we will obviously do so. We advise you to charge the price increase to the consumer price that you apply to your customers.

Despite the fact that these events are beyond our control, we truly regret having to deliver this message. Please do not hesitate to contact us for questions and comments
